Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer in Lavender Cloud and Zoya Brizia

If pastel is your thing, the Laura Mercier Belle Nouveau Collection for summer has a few items for you. One such is this nail lacquer in Lavender Cloud. It's a milky lavender that offers full opacity in two coats. While I felt certain that the shade wasn't completely unique, the two closest shades that I have in my collection aren't an exact match.

Zoya Nail Polish in Jules

I had put it on because it was my wedding anniversary and although we had postponed celebrating, I wanted to test drive a look I was planning for that special dinner out. My favorite Chanel associate and I agreed that with a polka-dot dress, black winged liner and a red lip were in order but what about the nails? I read somewhere that matching your nailpolish to your lipstick was no longer fashionable, so I thought I'd try a taupey gold by Zoya.

Zoya Dove and Caitlin Nail Polish

I've shown you Marley, from the Zoya Intimate Collection. I ordered a bunch of items from the brand and with the purchase, received the other two bottles of nail polish from the collection for free. The promotion, I believe, was to introduce people to their "french twist" which uses the colors Dove and Caitlin on an updated French Manicure. Caitlin is used as the base, Dove for the tips. Probably not a look I'll be wearing anytime soon but the colors, separately, are actually rather nice.

Zoya Marley Nail Polish

I've had a chance to swatch three shades of nail polish from the Zoya Intimate Collection and I picked out my favorite from the bunch. Let me show you the bottles of the ones I have.

Zoya Nail Polish in Renee

I walked into the nearest Ulta hoping to scope out Essie's Summer 2011 collection only to find the entire tray completely empty. However, to my surprise, the store now carries Zoya nail polish. I was completely thrilled as I had never tried the brand. I went home with the color Renee and a Maybelline limited edition shade called Pink Burst (which I'll talk about within the week).

Renee looks to me like a solid pink shade with fuschia leaning and a cream finish. Zoya's website describes it as an "ultra-bright red-toned medium neon pink creme." Upon application, I think I agree with the part that said ultra-bright and neon pink creme but I don't know about red-toned. Either way, I'm thrilled with the way it applied. It's very smooth, the color is so vibrant and fully-opaque in two coats. I'll show you the swatch on my hands which dried down to a somewhat matte finish. Top coat makes it glossy and totally awesome.

I've been wearing this on my toes since I got it (a week and a half). Not a chip in sight so far. If all colors apply and wear this well, I think I've just found a new favorite brand.
