Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencil Swatches (current colors)

It wasn't my intention to end up doing something of a series on the Laura Mercier eye products but since I've started it, I might as well try and share as much as I can. In this post, I'll show all the swatches of the Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencils that are in the regular line.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Fresh & Hydrating Cream Compact Makeup SPF15

I was so excited to receive my new Vitalumière Aqua Cream Compact that I used it straightaway as soon as it arrived. Having purchased the Vitalumière Aqua foundation and totally loving it, I was prepared to be blown away by the compact.

Laura Mercier "Smoky Effects Smudge, Blend & Gloss" Eye & Lip Set

I picked up this exclusive Laura Mercier set during Nordstrom's triple points event. I could not resist the Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Golden. I've collected a number of these Caviar Sticks (see that post here) and this shade is the exact color I've been waiting for.

I don't want to make this a long and laborious post so I'll try to let the pictures tell the story. In the box you'll find the Caviar Stick in Golden, the Lip Glace in Bare Pink and a mini Creme Eye Detail Brush. Everything is wrapped in the brown paper you see in the background in the picture above.

Laura Mercier Metallic Crème Eye Colour Swatches (all permanent colors)

Laura Mercier is one of my favorite makeup brands. People who know me where I shop know that they don't have to do any selling when it comes to Laura Mercier. I attempt to try everything that the brand comes out with and purchase items that I like. At this point, I have a fairly hefty Laura Mercier collection so I tend to be more selective about my purchases. My goal is to stick to items that I know I will truly use and to avoid redundancies.

Over the weekend, I was trying to get over the fact that I had to cancel a planned vacation due to weather-related issues so I swung by the mall to see what was new. There was actually nothing new that I was interested in and the mall was crowded, making it impossible to enjoy anything. But I did grab a couple of samples so I could swatch Laura Mercier's Metallic Crème Eye Colour for you as a complete set.

Sonia Kashuk Eyeliner Palette

I'm a Target fanatic. My husband and I used to plan vacations around Target locations with the goal of visiting every Target store in America. The idea has since lost steam but every Target location remains mapped on his TomTom and whenever we choose a hotel, we always make sure there's a Target within easy reach. After all, I'm bound to forget to pack something.

For all things Sonia Kashuk, Target is the way to go. While perhaps not my ultimate favorite brand, I appreciate that it's affordable and available. The brand's brushes, I think, are impressive, at the current price point. But like everything else, it's hit or miss, especially with the makeup. Standing in the cosmetic aisle of my Target one afternoon, I spied this little palette of eyeliner. Cake, perhaps? My curiosity was instantly stoked and off I rushed with it to the nearest register.

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin and Mini Spin Pins

Having had long hair for almost my entire life, I buy a lot of Goody products. I purchase mainly hair elastics since I'm in a pony tail ninety percent of the time. The other ten percent switches between long and loose, a half up/half down style with the "up" part usually cinched by a large barrette or a loose braided style pulled into a bun held together by a large claw clip. I will admit that I'm not very adept at fixing my hair, despite being told that I have really "cooperative" hair. Perhaps it is because of that "cooperativeness" that I haven't learned to do much to it. Mostly, I can't seem to find the time. If I brush it neatly, it pretty much stays in place.

There are times though, when I feel like I want a little style. I was really hopeful about the Goody Spin Pins as they seem to be loved by a large group of people. I bought the large ones for me and the mini ones for my preschooler.

The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin comes in a box with two spin pins like the ones pictured above. You get three for the mini spin pins, along with some instructions on how to use the product.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm SPF15 in 518 Tender Mauve

I had bought a couple of L'Oreal nail polishes at my local CVS and thought I'd pick up one of these babies to get some ExtraBucks Rewards. I'm always in the market for lip balm. Who doesn't need lip balm, right?

Laura Mercier has come out with a new set of blushes (five shades) and I chose Peach Whisper to add to my collection.

I can never resist the promise of a perfect nude lip and I think I've found a real gem in the Dior Addict Lipstick in shade 445 Createur.

Lierac Gentle Cleansing Water

I was in New York a few weeks ago, killing time at a Duane Reade before heading home, and I discovered an interesting section at the second floor of the store. They had a very nice beauty department up there! The store stocked brands I don't normally see in a drugstore. I spent most of my time perusing the Becca display (grabbed a couple of things, still testing) and when I rung up, the very helpful and nice associate handed me samples of skincare from a brand called Lierac.

Burberry 'Lip Mist' Natural Sheer Lipstick in Copper

I've reviewed a number of Burberry lipsticks and recently, two glosses for spring. With that purchase, I received a deluxe mini Lip Mist in the shade Copper.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Color in Now You Sea Me

Quality nail polish for less than than $5? I'm in. I was definitely roped in by a beautiful ad for L'Oreal's new line of polishes featuring Milla Jovovich wearing the shade Now You Sea Me. I'm normally fairly conservative with my nail colors so a blue/green/teal isn't something I normally go hunting for but I did for this color and I am very happy that I got it.

Now You Sea Me is a light teal that comes off more bluish in the shade and more greenish in afternoon sun. The picture below seems most true to color. Applying it myself, I found the formula to be on the thin side. I did 2 coats and then put on some extra on the sides of the nail so really it's more three. The weather was so beautiful and warm yesterday that I decided to haul myself to a nail salon and get a pedicure too. The technician didn't seem to have any issues with the polish. She said it was no problem to apply.

Guerlain Météorites Illuminating & Mattifying Compact Pressed Powder

I rarely touch up my foundation during the day but I like carrying pressed powder with me. It has to be small but have a mirror and it should be something that can be applied over foundation without drying my skin, caking or looking like I added a layer. I tried carrying blotting papers with me instead of pressed powder before but I miss having that mirror since I refresh my lipstick a lot.

butter London 3 Free Nail Lacquer in Royal Navy and Pink Ribbon

The two colors below are the rest of the butter trio that I talked about in a previous post (click here to read). Yesterday, I showed you All Hail The Queen. Below is Royal Navy.

Royal Navy applies very nicely. It's smooth and comes out completely opaque in two coats. I don't think I would ordinarily buy a color like this but having it in the trio made me think about experimenting. For a navy blue, this comes out pretty classy.

butter London 3 Free Nail Lacquer in All Hail The Queen

I bought a butter trio of Nail Lacquers in September last year. The set featured the shades Royal Navy, Pink Ribbon and All Hail The Queen. While I had shown the polishes and swatched each on one nail, I never did get around to testing the shades out for full wear until now. This is All Hail The Queen.

Guerlain Lingerie De Peau (Compact) Foundation SPF 20 and Concealer

With my purchase of the Écrin 4 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette which I reviewed last week, I received a sample of Guerlain's cream foundation and concealer combo. The sample is presented in a cardboard fliptop case with a small mirror and sponge. The mirror and sponge are somewhat useless but there was enough product for me to use for several days to form an opinion.

Chanel Retractable Lip Brush

I've lived for years without buying a new lip brush. I use a lip liner with a brush on the opposite end. I have a few of those and they have served me well so while I've thought about spending money on a lip brush, it was never felt like a necessity. That changed when I saw Chanel's new retractable lip brush. I was in love.

Chanel Skincare: Le Blanc Collection

I received a postcard in the mail a few weeks ago, an invitation to receive a sample of the just-launched Le Blanc Skincare line from Chanel. I love a good sample bag as much as the next person and this one was definitely a goodie. Enclosed in a tiny white drawstring pouch were samples of the Fresh Brightening Foam Cleanser, the Brightening Moisture Lotion (toner), the Brightening Concentrate Continuous Action TXC (serum) and the Brightening Moisture Cream. The only item I did not receive a sample of from the line is the UV Essentiel Multi-Protection Daily UV Care SPF 50 but this is ok as I really like my current SPF regimen.
