Guerlain Écrin 4 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 08 Les Perlés

I was, in a word, overwhelmed, by the release of these newer quads by Guerlain. What was it, nine? I think eight or nine quads went out with the launch last year and I found myself delaying and delaying a purchase because I simply couldn't make up my mind about which one to get. Did I want texture variance? Did I really want a palette of greens? Browns? A smoky eye palette perhaps? In the end, I thought I was being practical by picking out the palette with colors I thought I would use the most. I went with Les Perlés.

Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer in Cabana

I've finally gotten around to putting on Cabana which I've already shown a couple of times on this blog. First, when I reviewed Oh La La, one of 5 new shades of Nail Lacquer from Laura Mercier, released alongside Cabana. Second, on the color wheel, when I reviewed Chanel's Distraction.

Cabana is a sweet coral with a non-shimmer finish. I want to say cream finish but it feels less opaque than most creams and is almost translucent. Kind of like jelly. I was very much drawn to it upon initial application, not having seen Chanel's Distraction yet at the time.

Chanel Blending Foundation Brush (No. 7)

Call it serendipity. I had gone to Nordstrom yesterday to take my daughter to an event and made a mental note to grab myself a new duo fiber brush as my MAC 187 has been annoying me lately with some serious bouts of shedding. And as I swung by the Chanel counter to grab some tissues, lo and behold the brush display that was in the process of being set up. New brushes? You better believe it!

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Distraction

Chanel's little capsule collection for Valentine's, Roses Ultimes de Chanel, features four limited edition nail colors: a frosty white, a glittery sheer pink and a vibrant fuschia with a metallic finish but what caught my eye was the pretty coral. Distraction.

I'll be honest. I think that Distraction is quite aptly named. I'm wearing it and my eye just can't help but go to it every time. It is, in a word, distracting. Perhaps it's a little too early to actually wear it as it's a color that seems to announce that spring is just around the corner. No, check that. It says, spring is here! But it's not. Don't get me wrong, it's a very attractive coral shade. But I'll say, the longer I wear it, the more orange it feels. In which case, it feels more appropriate for the toes, in warmer weather. Nail color is a matter of preference, of course. I veer more towards nudes and the occasional dark for my hands. I generally prefer brights on toes.

Chanel Glossimer in Volupté

Chanel Glossimer in Volupté

Roses Ultimes de Chanel brings us six new Glossimers and four new nail polishes, all limited edition. The collection calls to mind a bouquet of flowers spanning the range from white to hot pink, with some lovely corals in between. I was attracted to the corals, a pairing called Devotion by Chanel, described as "sensual and all-consuming coral." This mini-set includes Le Vernis in Distraction and two Glossimers: the glittery Amour and the one I have featured here, Volupté.

I have time for just a quick post this morning and I thought I'd show some images of the L'Oreal Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Iced Latte.

Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer in Oh La La (+5 color preview)

Today I'm wearing Oh La La, one of 5 new nail colors by Laura Mercier. I swung by the counter last Wednesday and put one color on each finger and walked around with my rainbow nails before deciding on low maintenance sheer pink for some instant gratification. If you're looking for a milky pink, Oh La La is a good choice.

Giorgio Armani Waterproof Eye Liner Pencil in Copper

Armani Beauty has two limited edition waterproof pencil eyeliners out for spring, the shades Antique Gold and Copper. I didn't get a chance to sample Antique Gold but heard all the hype about Copper so I picked one up the soonest chance I could get.

Chanel Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10

I'm glad to finally get the chance to sit down and write this review. Chanel's Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Foundation made a really good impression on me when I tested it out 6 months ago, after the launch. Finding my shade was a painless process (to read about this, click here) as I ended up with the same shade that I wear in the Vitalumière Aqua Foundation that was released in the spring. A lot of my initial thoughts about the foundation continue to hold true although with east coast weather changes, I learned more about the appropriate times to wear this foundation and when it may not be the best option.

Burberry 'Lip Glow' Natural Lip Gloss

I've been hit with a little laziness when it comes to doing my eye makeup lately that I've turned to brighter lips to anchor my looks. I've talked about the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Unique as an alternative to red. Sheer, layerable, bright but not overbearing. I've found another endearing way to get that lip in one of Burberry's lip glosses for Spring/Summer 2012.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadows (Too Cool and Tough As Taupe)

Here are two really good neutrals that you can add to your collection of cream shadows. Too Cool and Tough As Taupe.

I featured three shades in my initial post (click here). You have the plummy brown Pomegranate Punk, the silvery grey Audacious Asphalt and the beautiful bronze neutral Bad to the Bronze. If you like neutrals, Too Cool and Tough As Taupe will be right up your alley.

Mini Kittour Daily Mini Organizer and Carried Away Zip-Seal Bags

If you travel a lot, you start to get more specific about your needs for each trip. You know what size bag will work and how many compartments you need. I used to want a travel-size everything just for trips. But in the last decade, going by plane has become less than appealing, what with all the rules about what you can carry on you. This kit from Mini Kittour attempts to make packing your Ziploc of beauty minis a little less of a headache and a touch more glamorous.

JK Jemma Kidd i-style Pro Duo Eyeshadow (all shades)

I talked about these JK Jemma Kidd eyeshadow duos briefly in a short blurb at the bottom of Monday's post. I had gone to Target over the weekend and bought the duo Boho. After a little bit of use, I decided that its sister shades were definitely worth checking out.
